Vision Statement
As a collaborative effort with community stakeholders, we, the Joseph F. Quinn Intermediate School 77, prioritize our commitment to high expectations, academic excellence, and the development of innovative thinkers. Through an inclusive curriculum, we aim to empower students and help them to achieve their full potential. We are dedicated to nurturing perseverance, empathy, respect, and responsibility in our students, while equipping them to thrive as valuable contributors to their community.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide ongoing collaboration, communication, and trust with all stakeholders - families, students, staff members, and community members. Our inclusive curriculum empowers students intellectually, academically, and emotionally. Our dedicated staff provides a student centered learning environment where all student voices are authentic and unique. At I.S. 77, we cultivate a culture of growth mindset where students demonstrate perseverance, empathy, respect, and responsibility through challenges.
Instructional Focus
I.S. 77’s instructional focus is for teachers to design coherent instruction that allows students to be fully engaged in their learning. Teachers will provide opportunities for students to work on culturally relevant, high-level learning tasks in order for them to develop their critical thinking skills. The ongoing analysis of classroom-level data will inform small group instruction, explicit modeling, and scaffolding support that will target the specific needs of diverse learners.
