School Entry and Dismissal Policy
School Hours:
The school day will commence promptly at 8:30 am and conclude at 2:50 pm.
Entry Procedures:

Breakfast Opportunity: Students have the opportunity to receive breakfast from 8:00 am to 8:25 am via the George Street side entrance in the small school yard.

Entry Time: All entry doors will open at 8:25 am and close promptly at 8:30 am, except for the George Street small school yard entrance, which opens at 8:00 am for breakfast.

Late Arrival: Students arriving after 8:30 am must enter through the Main Entrance (Exit 1/2) via the School Safety Agent or I.S. 77 Staff member to obtain a late pass and report directly to class, marked as LATE by their teacher.
Dismissal Procedures:

Dismissal Time: Unless otherwise specified, students will be dismissed promptly at 2:50 pm.

Pick-Up Protocol: Parents are expected to be punctual in picking up their child from the assigned exit. Parents attempting to pick up their child between 2:30 pm and 2:50 pm will be requested to wait until dismissal unless in case of emergency.

Grade-Specific Dismissal Locations:

6th Grade: George Street, Small School Yard

7th Grade: George Street Side entrance using the first blue door closest to the corner of Seneca Avenue.

8th Grade: Centre Street side entrance using the first blue door closest to the corner of Seneca Avenue.

Late Pick-Up: Students not picked up on time will be escorted to the Main Office, Room 111. Parent(s) must enter through the main entrance on Seneca Avenue.
Early Pick-Up Policy:

Advance Notice: Parents must provide advanced notice for early pick-up by sending a note with the child or calling the main office at 718-366-7120 no later than 1:30 PM.

Written Request: A written letter with date, details of the pickup, contact information, and parent signature is required for same-day pick-up changes.

Safety Precaution: Same-day requests may cause delays, and students without advance notice may experience delays in early pick-up, unless in case of extreme emergencies.

Release Policy: Please note that that ID is required for pickup. Must be 18+ years of age to pick up and name must be on the Blue Cards. If you need someone to pick up your child and their name is not on the Blue Card please call us in advance otherwise your child we are not permitted to release your child due to safety precautions.
Late Pick-Up Policy:

Sign-Out Procedure: Parents must sign out of a late book each time a student is picked up after 2:50 pm, allowing a 10-minute grace period.

Excessive Delay: In case of excessive delay and inability to reach the parent/guardian, students may be overseen for safety at the local precinct as an absolute last resort.
